"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whoever believes in Him will not perish,

but have everlasting life."                                               —  John 3:16

If there is ANY doubt whatsoever that you will be in heaven, simply say this from the bottom of your heart:

“Father God, forgive my sins.  Jesus, come into my heart.  Make me the kind of person YOU want me to be.

THANK YOU for saving me TODAY.”   Where is Jesus now?   If you can say, “He’s in my heart”,

CONGRATULATIONS on becoming a child of God!  To begin your new life in Christ, we encourage you to

read your Bible every day, talk to God in prayer daily, regularly attend a church that preaches about Christ

and His love, and tell others about this most important decision you’ve made.  Let us know, too, by clicking

on the  CONTACT US  link, and it would be our sincere pleasure and honor to let you know of additional

resources to help you as you embark on this most exciting journey.  Place your complete trust in Christ —

He will never let you down!

In John 16:5-11, Jesus proclaims to His disciples that He will send the Helper, the Holy Spirit (from the Greek word parakletos, meaning "called to one’s side").  The Spirit Filled Life Bible has a footnote which reads, “The New Birth and the baptism with the Holy Spirit endow the believer with the life and gifts of the Holy Spirit, including the ability to pray in Spirit power.  The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Helper, Advocate, and Guide.  He is our source of true spiritual understanding.  He lifts up Jesus and builds up believers, enabling them to live the Christian life.”

One of the beautiful signs of having been filled with the Holy Spirit is speaking in a heavenly prayer language, or "speaking in tongues", which is encouraged in the Bible.  A Bible teacher and minister said speaking in tongues gives us these benefits:

1.) It edifies and builds up our "inner man";

2.) It takes the focus off of our problems and places the focus on JESUS; and

3.) It ushers in the presence of our Lord Jesus.

How to Receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

Charles Hunter has been used powerfully by God to personally lead over a million people to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The following are notes from Charles' teaching on this topic, as featured in the Hunter’s training video, "To Heal the Sick":

Acts 2:4 — “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

Acts 2:38, 39 — “Then Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 10:44 — “While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.”

Romans 8:26 — “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

I Corinthians 14:2 — “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.”

* Tongues spoken in corporate (public) gathering with interpretation:  Heaven to earth communication — God speaking to people.

* Tongues spoken in private:  Earth to heaven communication —personal edification and praise to God.

Ask if person(s) to whom you are ministering have received Jesus as their Savior. [If they haven’t yet, lead them in the salvation prayer — use the “2 Kinds of” technique featured on the NEWS page.]

Let them know you will gently lay hands on them.

√  Ask Jesus to baptize them in the Holy Spirit.

√  Have them look up to God and raise their hands and begin to love and praise Him, not in English or any language they understand, but in little sounds. Let it come out naturally. Begin to lead them in speaking in tongues.

>  Most people do not know why they need the baptism in the Holy Spirit, so it may take several minutes to explain and reinforce teaching on this topic.  If we do our part, God will do His part through the Holy Spirit.

>  The Holy Spirit will take whatever sounds you say and make an utterance out of them.  But you have to make the sounds.

>  The baptism in the Holy Spirit is manifest in a free-flowing prayer language: “...Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” — John 7:38

>  People receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit need to open their mouths and speak as the Holy Spirit gives utterance; people cannot receive with closed mouths.

>  The Holy Spirit is a kind gentleman, so He will not force you to speak.

>  Beginning to speak in tongues is like “priming a pump” — begin by using your mind to make various sounds and syllables, then as sounds flow out, the Holy Spirit will take over.

TIPS when leading people in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit:

+  If a person gets “stuck” on a couple of syllables, politely ask them to “place it on their shoulder” and start afresh again.

+  Encourage people to speak RAPIDLY and LOUD ENOUGH so that they can hear their own voice while practicing speaking in tongues.

+  Listen carefully to make sure they received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

+  Emphasize that it is not by emotions, but it is by FAITH we receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Have them repeat: “Lord, I want the power of the Christian life.   Fill me with your Holy Spirit from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.”

Let them make this proclamation: “I believe I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit.”

Do a “count-down”, say “1, 2, 3, NOW!” and let them speak in tongues.

Let them pray in tongues 2 or 3 minutes — long enough to give them adequate experience.

Pray along with them in tongues, loud enough and rapidly enough so they can hear how to pray in tongues.

(Charles Hunter says the wording does not have to be exactly like this, but it can be similar.)

Repeat these words:  “Dear Jesus, thank You for the most exciting gift on earth, the gift of salvation. Lord Jesus, there is another gift you promised, and that is the gift of the Holy Spirit. So I ask You, Lord Jesus, to baptize me with the Holy Spirit RIGHT NOW, exactly like on the day of Pentecost. Thank you, Lord Jesus, You’ve done Your part, now I’m going to do my part. I’m going to lift my hands up to God, I’m looking up to God, and when the signal is given, I’m going to begin to praise God, but not in English, because I cannot speak two languages at once. Father, I love You, I praise You, I worship You. I love you with ALL MY HEART.”

1.)  Say: “Now, no more English [nor any other language you may know], but begin to rapidly and loudly praise God when I say 1, 2, 3, NOW....” After a minute or so of speaking in tongues, pause.

2.)  Then practice SPEAKING in tongues TWICE as FAST and TWICE as LOUD.

3.)  Then practice PRAYING in tongues SOFTLY, just above a whisper, while upholding an unsaved loved one in prayer while speaking in tongues.

4.)  Finally, practice SINGING in tongues.

Thus, four times you practice speaking in tongues — three times speaking and once singing.  Charles Hunter says this “seals it.”

Paul said, “....I will pray with the Spirit and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the Spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.” (I Cor. 14:15)

If the devil tries to throw in any doubt that you didn’t really receive the baptism, get rid of those thoughts by praying LOUDLY in tongues to get the devil to flee.  Proclaim:

You are encouraged to pray and sing often in tongues — but as Charles says, be sure not to sing and pray in tongues with eyes closed while driving...!  :-)

“I wish you all spoke with tongues....” — Paul

                     (I Corinthians 14:5)

Did You Know.....

The Health Benefits of Speaking in Tongues

First and foremost, speaking in tongues strengthens your relationship with God through the precious Holy Spirit.

It empowers you to victoriously live the Christian life, so you  can fulfill the unique, divine destiny God has specifically for your life.

But did you know that speaking in tongues brings a bonus?

Science has confirmed that speaking in tongues can boost your immune system’s function!

According to Dr. Carl Peterson, a Christian psychiatrist from Tulsa, Oklahoma, when speaking in tongues vigorously, special classes of beneficial, healing chemicals are released from the brain:

Endorphins, which give you a feeling of well-being, and

Neurohumors, which are the most powerful natural chemicals produced by the body to help govern exercise recovery and tissue growth.

Therefore, speaking in tongues VIGOROUSLY:

Brings in the PRESENCE of God;

Gives you a sense of God’s PEACE and JOY;  and

Releases the HEALING EFFECT of endorphins and neurohumors.

More good reasons to practice speaking in tongues each and every day!   And yet another way our Father God shows His great love for us, His children.
